Magazine's interview, local composer Evelyn Pursley-Kopitzke demonstrated the percussive use of a stringed instrument that was called for in her 60-page composition Vignettes: Stories from an African Childhood. Behind her photograph is the first page of When You Walk Through Troubled Waters, a "song of protection" she wrote for a friend.
