IN FOCUS: Northeast State Raises Curtain on Regional Performing Arts Center Wing
August 03, 2008BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. ? Northeast State Technical Community College will christen the Regional Center for the Performing Arts wing of the Humanities Complex on Tuesday, Aug. 12 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. to open the region's newest public performance venue.
Located on the main campus at Blountville, the 36,000-square foot building contains a 500-seat performing arts theater, humanities classrooms, and a physical education laboratory.
The Fine Arts building and theater represent the completion of Northeast State's $15 million Humanities Complex. The Humanities classroom building was completed last year and welcomed students for the 2007 fall semester.
The Center for the Performing Arts building creates a unique performance site. The theater almost triples in size the existing performance space available at Northeast State.
