Arts Alliance Names New Officers
June 29, 2010Meet the new officers of Arts Alliance Mountain Empire, publisher of A! Magazine for the Arts.
President: Monica Hall has served on AAME's board for several years and on the Art in Public Places and Board Development committees. She is a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and has strong family ties locally. She loves our region and wants it to continue to be a great place to raise families and offer more to its citizens. She is a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director and offers training and education to women.
Vice-President: Richard Opp previously served as Secretary on AAME's board. He is an Employee Benefits Consultant with Opp & Associates in Bristol, Tenn. He has acted for Theatre Bristol and Snarling Dog Productions and is on the Souvenir Committee for Bristol's Rhythm & Roots Reunion Festival. Prior to returning to the Tri-Cities, he was a television news reporter/anchor for stations in Knoxville, Tenn., as well as Wisconsin, Mississippi, Ohio and Nebraska. Opp also did public relations work for the New Mexico State Attorney General's office and The National Environmental Trust based in Washington, D.C.
Secretary: Candice (Candy) Snodgrass is a transplant from Chicago, Ill., who has lived in Bristol for many years. She is chair of Bristol's Art in Public Places and currently serves as President of the Bristol Public Library Foundation. She is past president of the Bristol Ballet board of directors. She has worked for Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield for 26 years and is District Manager for the Bristol office.
Treasurer: Pat Combs will serve a second term as Treasurer of AAME and Chair of the Finance Committee for AAME. Pat retiredin 2003 from a 36-yearbanking career. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and is Treasurer for The Paramount Chamber Players.Beginning July 1, 2010, Pat will serve Rotary International as District Governor of District 7570, one of 531 districts worldwide. As a volunteer she has served on the boards of the Bristol Housing and Redevelopment Authority(chairman/commissioner); United Way; Greater Bristol Area Chamber of Commerce; People, Inc.; Boy Scouts; Junior Achievement; Bristol Crisis Center; Pilot Club; and the Bristol Tennessee PTA Council.
