KINGSPORT, TN — Kingsport's 2011 Appalachian Art Show will be on display through March 25.

Awards were recently presented:

• Best in Show: "Ivory" oil by Gary Chambers

• Second place: "Barnyard Strut," pastel by Kitty Williams

• Third place: "MetroMarilyn," mixed media by Wes Venable


• Collegiate Award: "Dance Printmaking," mixed media by Greg Howser

• Collegiate Art Department Award: ETSU


In addition, Awards of Excellence were presented for the following:

• "Eagle River," pencil by Elizabeth Brewer

• "Parade Watchers," oil by Jean Corbett

• "Coral View," mixed media by Kathy Hawk

• "Patriot Pride," watercolor by Mary Lou Hightower

• "Tension," wood and metal by Patti Lawrence

• "Pondering," acrylic by Sally Mook

• "School's Out," acrylic by Don Morris

• "Fins," acrylic by Betty O'Neill

• "The Ukraine is Weak," oil by Tim Tate

• "Autumn Farmhouse," oil by Anne Thwaites
