September is Free at William King Museum
September 04, 2012ABINGDON, VA – The William King Museum: Center for Art and Cultural Heritage announces that the month of September will be free to all visitors, as a thank you to the community for being so supportive of the William King Museum.
This is a great chance for new visitors and visitors who haven't stopped by in a while to experience the Museum and all it has to offer.
Throughout the month of September, four exhibitions are rotating throughout three main galleries: "Circles in the Sand: Aboriginal Art from Australia's Central Desert Region," "Shining Light: Folk Artists Nancy Johnson" and "Minnie Ma Scyphers," "reDomestication: Ceramics by Birdie Boone," and "Dali Illustrates Dante's Divine Comedy: From the University of Tennessee's Ewing Gallery."
Two additional galleries also have rotating exhibitions. During the month of September, the Student Gallery will feature "Young @ Art" and the Panoramic Gallery will feature "Reflections of Self: Curated by Mary Malony."
Our studio artists also will be around the building sporadically for a chat; visit Val Lyle and Nadya Warthen-Gibson on the third floor or Cecelia Pippin and Erika McClintock on the first floor. And don't forget to pop into the Looking Glass Museum Store where there is a variety of new work from area artists.
Donations will be accepted at three points throughout the Museum in donation boxes, or online at www.williamkingstore.com.
