She has a degree in chemistry

Marcia Willard's educational background includes a bachelor's in chemistry with a minor in theater studies from Linfield College, McMinnville, Ore.

She fell in love with theater in college and switched gears to wigs and makeup after graduating. She earned her MFA in wig and makeup design from the University of Cincinnati — College Conservatory of Music in 2012. Having grown up in Washington State, she's enjoyed traveling for her studies and work.

Before joining Barter Theatre in January 2013, she was the assistant wig master at the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
