Tennessee Awarded more than $1 million for Arts and Culture Projects
May 16, 2016NASHVILLE — In the second major grant announcement during its 50th anniversary year, the National Endowment for the Arts awarded $1,054,900 to the support of a variety of arts and culture projects in Tennessee. Fourteen organizations will be granted, including the TN Arts Commission.
For this round, funds were distributed to four categories: Art Works; Research: Art Works; Our Town; and State and Regional Partnerships.
"The arts are all around us, enhancing our lives in ways both subtle and obvious, expected and unexpected," said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. "Supporting projects like the ones in Tennessee offers more opportunities to engage in the arts every day."
"This federal funding will help Tennessee communities continue to thrive through the arts," says Anne B. Pope, executive director of the Tennessee Arts Commission.
