Knoxville Symphony season tickets on sale

KNOXVILLE, TN The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra announces the 2017-2018 season of its Knoxville News Sentinel Pops Series. Series subscriptions are on sale starting at $105 and current subscribers have first chance to renew their subscriptions and retain their seats. Single tickets go on sale in August. All concerts take place at 8 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium unless otherwise noted.

"The KSO Pops season has something for everyone," saidKSO Executive Director Rachel Ford."Because of the "Buy four get one free' option, our pops patrons can customize their package to their own personal tastes.This season not only are we paying homage to legendary artists such as the Beatles and Billy Joel, but we are bringing visuals into the orchestra experience with the filmRaiders of the Lost Arkand clips of our favorite Disney classics. It is going to be a spectacular season with supremely talented guest artists, providing a first-rate concert experience."

Current Pops subscribers can retain their seats by renewing their subscription by May 6. Tickets may be purchased by calling 865-291-3310. Single tickets go on sale in August 2017. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets at a discounted rate by calling 865-521-2337. *New or renewing subscribers can choose one of two free bonus concerts.

A Beatles Tribute: Sgt. Pepper's & More*
Friday, Oct. 13

8 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre
(This concert takes place at the Tennessee Theatre). *Bonus concert

Beatles tribute group Classical Mystery Tour celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album and other classic Beatles hits.

Raiders of the Lost Ark + Orchestra
Saturday, Jan. 13

8 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium

Relive the classic action film as the exploits of Indiana Jones are projected on a big screen while the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performs John Williams' epic score live.

Broadway Romance
Saturday, Feb. 10

8 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium

Broadway singers Doug LaBrecque, Christiane Noll and Rachel York perform the most romantic moments from showstoppers "Phantom of the Opera," "The Music Man," "Funny Girl" and more.

Music of Disney: Tale As Old As Time*

Under the Streetlamp

Retro never sounded so "now" in the hands of "Jersey Boys" veterans for Under the Streetlamp, an electrifying evening of Motown, doo-wop and old-time rock n' roll.

Subscriptions to the five concerts of the 2017-18 Knoxville News Sentinel Pops Series begin at $105 and are on sale to the general public. Subscribers receive five concerts for the price of four, which is like getting tickets to your choiceof either Beatles Tribute: Sgt. Pepper's & More or Music of Disney Tale As Old As Time for free.

Subscribers can purchase the second "pick one" concert at a discounted rate, as well as receive a 20% discount to the KSO Clayton Holiday Concerts. KSO subscribers receive ticket exchange privileges and do not pay handling fees when purchasing tickets through the KSO box office. Subscriptions to last season's Pops Series sold very quickly and patrons are encouraged to subscribe early to ensure the best seats.

Established in 1935, and under the leadership of Music Director Aram Demirjian, the KSO has contributed to the cultural life in East Tennessee continuously for 80 years, providing excellence in musical and educational programs. The Orchestra consists of 80 professional musicians and performs 250 programs throughout the region each season, reaching audiences of more than 200,000 people. The KSO performs in traditional venues such as the Tennessee Theatre, Bijou Theatre and the Civic Auditorium as well as non-traditional places like hospitals, schools, city parks and churches.
