Art Market Gallery debuting two artists

Date(s):  May 02 - 28, 2017
Venue: Art Market Gallery

Knoxville, TN 37902

KNOXVILLE, TN Recent works by photographer Dennis Sabo and potter Larry Gabbard are on display May 2 through May 28 at the Art Market Gallery. An opening reception for the featured artists begins at 5:30 p.m., May 5, during Downtown Knoxville's monthly First Friday Art Walk, with complimentary refreshments, and music performed by Boogertown Gap.

Sabo is an internationally honored photographer specializing in contemporary abstract, landscape, and seascape photography. His fine art natural world abstracts and landscapes are often sought out by home decor and interior designers and have been included in solo and group art gallery exhibitions, commercial installations and private home collections throughout the United States and internationally.

Gabbard enjoys fast-firing techniques which create a rich variety of textures and colors on bisque clay. He finds the unexpected marks made when clay, heat and smoke interact to be among the most intriguing and challenging of finishes to perfect and reproduce.

Owned and operated by more than 60 professional regional artists, the Art Market Gallery, at 422 South Gay St., is a few doors away from Mast General store and next to Downtown Grill & Brewery. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The gallery is wheelchair accessible, and parking in the abutting garage and on the street is free on weekends and after 6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call 865-525-5265, or visit
