Photography workshop for ages 55 and over

JOHNSON CITY, TN — Registration is open for the "Seeding Artful Aging" photography workshop offered through a partnership between Johnson City Public Library and the Department of Art & Design at East Tennessee State University. The workshop is free and open to adults age 55 and up. No prior experience is required, but a strong commitment to attendance is requested.

Katie Sheffield, department of art and design Visual Resources Curator, teaches black & white film photography, including darkroom developing and printing.

Classes are held at ETSU photo darkroom and classrooms and meets twice weekly, on Tuesdays & Thursdays, from 6-8 p.m., from May 23 to July 18. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants' works are shown at Slocumb Gallery from July 24 to Aug. 25.

There will be a reception for the workshop participants Aug. 10 from 5-7 p.m.; the public is invited to attend this free event.
