Storyteller Marjorie Shaefer to perform

JOHNSON CITY, TN — The Johnson City Public Library hosts storyteller Marjorie Shaefer Tuesday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kathryn Jones Meeting Room for an evening of storytelling. Shaefer tells the story “Grandma Joins the Army,” a funny and endearing tale about her grandmother’s persistence in making her life dreams come true.

At the end, audience members are encouraged to participate in a dynamic audience discussion. This event is in conjunction with the 2018 Women’s History Month theme, “Nevertheless She Persisted.” It is free and open to the public.

Shaefer is a graduate of East Tennessee State University’s Master of Arts in Storytelling program. She is a performing member of the Jonesborough Storytelling Guild and teaches Artful Aging Oral Narratives workshops at the Johnson City Public Library.
