Taste of Dance & Gardening workshops at Johnson City Public Library

JOHNSON CITY, TN — The Johnson City Public Library hosts a “Taste of Dance” at the library each Monday evening at 6 p.m., through July 16. These introductory classes are taught by local professionals who will give a short history of the dance, a quick preview and then teach an introductory lesson to give participants a “taste” of the dance.

On June 18, Donna Leonard from Southern Fire teaches clogging. Line dance is taught June 25 by Martha Davenport from Dandy Line. Kristen Borodzik teaches African dance, July 2. Lance Halverson from Dare 2 Dance Studio teaches East Coast Swing July 9, and the series ends with BJ Goliday teaching the Latin dance, Bachata July 16. All ages are welcome, no experience is necessary, but participants must be able to follow directions.

The “Taste of Dance” series is presented as part of the “Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Program.
