JOHNSON CITY — The Summer Reading Program at Johnson City Public Library begins Monday, June 3 and runs through Thursday, July 25. Summer Reading is an annual nationwide program hosted by libraries that encourages people of all ages to spend the summer months reading as much as possible. People register and set reading goals for themselves, then spend the summer tracking their progress and winning prizes.

This year’s theme is “A Universe of Stories,” so library events and reading prizes focus on topics such as outer space and science fiction. Summer Reading is divided into three age divisions: children, teens and adults. For specific information about Summer Reading registration, events and prizes in the different age divisions, visit www.jcpl.org or call: Betty Cobb at 423-434-4350 (children); Katelyn Wolfe at 423-434-4349 (teens); and Wendy Day at 423-434-4355 (adults).
